APIC Chapter 029 – Orange County is committed to be a leader and key resource in the field of infection prevention, control and epidemiology in healthcare settings in Orange County, California.

Our mission is to influence, support and improve patient outcomes and healthcare policies through the practice and management of infection prevention, control and epidemiology in Orange County, California.

Strategic Plan:

Goal 1: Provide on-going education, support and develop professional growth for the healthcare community.

  • Offer high quality educational programs.
  • Conduct an all day or half day educational seminar annually.
  • Maintain the chapter website.
  • Maintain a mentor program for new members.
  • Promote related programs in infection control sponsored by California APIC Coordinating Council (CACC), National or community organizations.
  • Support and encourage member’s efforts to attain or maintain their certification in infection control.

Goal 2: Influence regulatory and legislative issues.

  • Participate in CACC activities.
  • Distribute information on pending legislation and other issues during chapter meetings.
  • Participate in and provide feedback on new legislation in an informed and timely manner.

Goal 3: Promote infection prevention practice in the community.

  • Annually assess the need for participation in community projects related to infection prevention.
  • Develop educational programs that would appeal to various healthcare disciplines.
  • Provide forums for developing best practices in infection prevention.

Goal 4: Maintain financial health of the Chapter.

  • Support the CACC joint ventures.
  • Budget funds to promote education for chapter members.
  • Explore opportunities to increase Chapter revenue.
